The samples pictured above are slightly enlarged by 25% of the actual sizes of the vials. They contain plants and mineral materials only, usually with symbolic objects, and occasionally a painted soapstone carving of a saint suspended in oil. Some of the containers are cast-off medical ampules. Charm vials are often sold with printed descriptions of their contents, none of which are completely accurate. Charm Vial #2 is a Peruvian Amulet Vial for Wealth, made by a "Curandero" or Folk Doctor, from the Amazon area of Ayacuucho, Peru.
